We are celebrating Red Ribbon Week: October 22nd to October 26
Red Ribbon Week is coming up. It is an annual National Campaign celebrated around the world to encourage students to “Say No to Drugs.”. We have some special events planned for our students.
Monday October 22nd – Students will tie red ribbons around our trees outside of School to remind people, we’re a drug free zone. Students will each receive a red Bracelet that they should wear all week to remind them of What Red Ribbon Symbolizes.
Tuesday, October 23rd – Students can have a dress down day, wearing their shirt Inside out to represent “Turn your Backs on Drugs.”
Wednesday October 24th – Be Smart and Say no to drugs – students will receive Smarties as a treat.
Thursday October 25th – “Pledge to Say No to Drugs” - students will cut out a drawing of their hands and put it on a poster board that will be displayed in their classroom. It Will serve as a reminder of their pledge to say NO to drugs.
Friday October 26th – “Choices Better than Drugs” – students will be allowed to bring board games to school. Students will have the last 45 minutes of the day to play games with each other. Teachers will also have Board Game available in their Classrooms. No video games will be permitted.
This is a great week for our students, and a great week for them to recognize the danger of drugs, and how to say “No.”
